Sk'va is the second round of The Grand Battle (Season 2).
Description[]
Sk'va is a floating magitechnological city populated by insect people. They engage in regular "wars" with their neighbouring flying city, Cyk'nl. Despite the patriotism of the citizens, these wars are closer to a ludicrously competitive sporting event, with the showing-off of advanced weapons technology/alchemy/what have you.
Events[]
Jennifer acquires diplomatic immunity, and learns the farcical nature of the war. She uses her royal position to assign Xadrez as an ambassador, to help Sk'va win the upcoming war. Kracht tells Maxwell he is certain to die this round; the Ovoid manifests in Cyk'nl and styles itself as the "Inscriber", of the Cyk'nlians' prophecies.
Xadrez learns from the mayoress that the war is not a war, is disgusted, and wreaks havoc in her office after she dies in labour. Kracht reappears - perhaps to goad Xadrez - as the two cities rejoin and Cyk'nl's troops storm the office; at this point the cities start falling.
Xadrez and Jen agree to try and save the cities - Xadrez to mess with Kracht's predestination, Jen to rescue the citizens. Maxwell and Arkal fight in a Sk'van church, then reluctantly work together on Xadrez' orders to find a way to restore the cities' flight. Kracht takes some time out of being a douche or whatever to check the museum, not having had a chance to find out the important artefacts kept within on previous iterations. He finds an engine capable of launching Sk'va into space, and a cryogenically frozen Bio-Wyrm.
Xadrez connects to The Network via the Ovoid, and confronts Kracht about it in the museum. Kracht says enough to show he doesn't know of it; Xadrez orders Maxwell press the advantage and ambush Kracht. Sikarius resists and overpowers Maxwell at the sight of the second Bio-Wyrm; then fetches Arkal as a host.
Someone switches the massive engine on; another fight breaks out and in the fracas Sikarius is severed from Maxwell by a falling rock, and Jen is killed by an Ovoid dragon and latched onto by the Bio-Wyrm. Fanthalion (Jen's Bio-Wyrm) accepts the data package proffered by the dying Sikarius.
